About the Role
The Medical Records Clerk supports health-information management, records requests, and documentation accuracy at our procedure center and clinic. This role is based at our Dakota Dunes, SD location.
What You’ll Do
- Process release-of-information (ROI) requests from providers, facilities, and authorized requestors.
- Scan, index, and file documents into the electronic health record.
- Maintain chart accuracy and completeness.
- Track and route incoming records to the correct location and staff.
- Support referral and prior-authorization documentation.
- Retrieve records for audits, care coordination, and billing or legal requests.
- Uphold record-retention and confidentiality standards.
- Respond to records inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Health-information, medical-records, or medical-office experience preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health records (eClinicalWorks a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and records-confidentiality practices
